Welcome
Q
How do we identify the specific skills our workers need?

A
Adult Education at Work will conduct a workplace needs analysis to identify the skills your workers need to perform their jobs accurately and consistently. Comparing the results with workers' current skill levels and your company's needs enables us to deliver a customized program that "fills the skill gap."

Q
How is workforce education different from other training programs?

A
Workforce education focuses on the underlying basic skills required to perform job tasks and participate fully in training. Unlike off-the-shelf training modules, workforce education programs are customized - targeting the specific skill needs of your workplace and your employees.

Q
  Why choose adult education?

A
With twenty years of experience delivering customized workforce education, adult education is the recognized expert in providing instruction to adults seeking English language proficiency; basic reading, writing and math; and high school completion options. Instructors are State-certified. Our experience working with learners at a range of skill levels enables us to identify your workers skill needs and develop customized programs that fill the "skills gap".

Q
How much do our services cost?

A
Adult Education at Work fees cover actual time spent to analyze your company's needs, set up your customized program, and provide classes. Fees vary by program. Because our providers are not-for-profit, you will find the cost of our services highly competitive with other vendors.

Q
How do I know if my workforce education program is effective?

A
Adult Education at Work providers use a variety of tools to measure program results and make sure that outcomes are in line with company goals. Use of CASAS Workforce Learning Systems assessments allows us to appraise skill levels and measure progress. CASAS is the nationally-recognized assessment system utilized by the Connecticut State Department of Education.

Q
How do I find a workforce education provider to meet my company's needs?

A
Adult Education at Work is a network of 21 providers located throughout the state. For more information about workforce education and the providers in your area, contact Melissa Dayton at (860) 524-4057, or mdayton@crec.org.
